Relationship status: Complete Ownership ⏳

Hey friends

Here are Doable ideas, Reflections and Mindfulness to try out this week.

Doable ideas

The quickest hack to "find more time"⏱ : take a look at your schedule for the past 2 weeks. Summarise where you spent the most of the time on. Compare that with your goals/intentions/ideal life. Do they align? Why/why not? What can you eliminate/delegate? Apply the "hell yeah or no" concept for decision making as much as possible. You will "find" time to spend on things you genuinely care by simply doing a weekly review like this.

I finished re-reading The Big Leap this week. Towards the end of the book the concept of time was mentioned. It made me rethink my relationship with time. For weeks while I'm in lockdown, I felt like the world is on hold but I'm falling behind. It would be so easy to make excuse out of the pandemic for slacking off, postponing my workouts, and generally not hitting my yearly goals. The book basically said that we OWN time - that time comes from within us. How can that be possible though? I'm always the type with a packed schedule even when I'm travelling. It's like time is something external, and as the book illustrated, I play victim when it comes to time.

“I don’t have time for this.”

“I wish I had more than 24 hours per day.”

“How is it September already?”

You know that feeling - every minute feels like torture when we’re in office, but when we get back home and cuddle with our loved ones, it feels like an eternity.

Perspective.

Take OWNERSHIP of every task you do. If necessary, make it fun so that you enjoy doing it more.

I have tested this mindset shift and it worked wonderfully. Here are a few examples:

  1. Listen to your favourite podcast/audiobook/music while you wash the dishes
  2. Acknowledge that most tasks are the results of your choices
  3. The most important yet daunting project directly relates to your goal/future self so it’s a blessing that you get to spend time on it

So, here is something to think about: how’s your relationship with time? What can you improve?

Don't forget to tag me on @hangoutwithv via Instagram or Twitter to let me know how these ideas work for you! If you enjoyed that, please share with others.

Have a great week ahead x

Hey friends Here are Doable ideas, Reflections and Mindfulness to try out this week. Doable ideas In a deep work session, write down all your distractions on a small piece of paper, instead of jumping onto your train of thoughts. After the session, go through the list and NOT let yourself do any of the things you wrote down. In most cases, they aren't urgent or important. Train your self-control. Reflections What is something you keep avoiding, and why? Mindfulness Create your own sanctuary...

Hey friends Welcome to the new version of my newsletter. I'm in the process of rebranding it so that it can better serve you by providing more valuable content that would be helpful for you. Let me know what you think by replying to this email! As I'm writing this, I'm still in lockdown (I'm based in Sydney, Australia). Looks like the virus isn't going away anytime soon. This is my 2nd lockdown experience. I returned from Brisbane a few weeks ago and have been staying at home most of the time...
